Entity is a musical group that fuses the genres of Hip-hop and R&B/Soul. The easiest and most profound way to describe the sounds of ENTITY is to imagine the blend of melodic, soulful singing, meshed with the rawness of true hip-hop style, flavor, and lyrical content. There is no doubt that Entity has the ability to hold their own. Homage and Gabrielle are not featuring on each others songs; they have strategically arranged each record to maintain a unique sound that is skillfully blended into a seamless flow.

IndieByChoice: Tell us about your self. Who is Entity Muzic?
Entity: "Entity- being, existence, especially: independent, separate, or self-contained existence.... of....
Muzic- vocal, instrumental, or mechanical sounds having rhythm, melody, or harmony.

We are a group that consists of 2 members: Gabrielle- Vocalist/ Songwriter and Homaje(pronounced homage)- Vocalist/Songwriter/Producer. We have been influenced by music, period. Every thing from classical to pop to hip hop to country and rock. We Choose to make music that will not only speak to the heart, trials, and real life circumstances that we as human beings face, but we also push for a sound that exists out side of the norm of the music culture. We have taken our two favorite genres (hip hop and R&B) and fused them together to be able to touch both males and females alike... you could call it perspective music because you get the male and female take on the subject of each record we perform. We won't stop with those two genres we like to experiment, so fusion is key in what we do."

IndieByChoice: At this moment, what stage of your musical career do you believe you’re at?
Entity: "We are always learning and looking for ways to grow. So as to say what stage we would have to look at the vision we have set for our group where we have been and where we want to go. With out revealing all of our plans I would say we are in the touring and expansion stage.

This is where we feel our strongest exposure will come. We have met and networked with many industry professionals locally and abroad and they all have given us the encouragement not to be afraid to step out a get what we want. To ultimately do what we love to do and get paid for it. That's we are here for right?"

IndieByChoice: What sets you apart from other aspiring artists?
Entity: "I think it would be a little cliche and possibly arrogant to say that we are better or far more different than other artists. As artist we all have a passion and desire to want our music to be heard by the masses. Entity Muzic in definition strives to make muzic will captivate the listeners but also grab their soul.

The goal would be to create music with a substance that could be fulfilling until the last record is spun. As far as our music is concerned the vocal tones and the choice of instrumentals we use bring a different feel and mood to what is already out there. We have beautiful chemistry when we create our music and it shows in our sound and stage performance. We don't try to be different it just comes out that way. We stay true to ourselves and try to make muzic people can relate to."

IndieByChoice: One of our favorite songs off the album is “Approach,” how would you describe your music to someone who hasn't listened to the track yet?
Entity: "Attractive, Inspiring, Innovative, Creative, Addictive, Surprising and influential aka Something you can ride to, clean to, and dream to muzic.

IndieByChoice: I see that you wrote and helped produce this album. How hard was it going through the process from start to the end?
Entity: "Yes, Homaje produced 2 records off the "Experience" LP The "Ideas" Intro and "Approach" and Gabrielle co-produced the record "Feels Good" with J. Skillz.

We were really excited when we decided to put an album together. It was definitely not easy putting a Lp together with having to live everyday life with jobs and other responsibilities. In the end, the process was exciting and a wonderful learning experience. We both learned a lot from the beginning to the closing out of the album. It definitely helped us see what it truly means to love what you do. It was like birthing a child, from conception to delivery. Once it's done, you don't realize all the ups and downs you went through to make the project manifest. You definitely don't forget though. Now we see why some of these artists be so sensitive when critics slam their albums."

IndieByChoice: What do you want people to take away from your album?
Entity: "1.That they are able to stay focused and overcome when things get tough.
2. To celebrate when they are headed toward success.
3. You are the ruler of your domain and atmosphere. Don't worry about the naysayers."

IndieByChoice: Last question. For artist visiting Cincinnati in the future, where is your favorite place to perform?
Entity: "Good question. We love to take almost any stage in Cincy. Ultimately, it all comes down to the quality of the sound and the intimacy of the audience. There are definitely too many to name, so we're gonna say come to the Nati, get involved with the scene and you can make the choice for yourself."

Adding Featured Artist to Your Songs

Showcase Songs You Are Featured On
Collaborations are a great way for artist to reach new markets and gain more exposure. We want to expand on that at IndieByChoice by giving you the ability to link other artist to your songs that they were featured on. This will allow your music to be promoted to their fans as well as yours.

Adding a Featured Artist
Adding an artist as a feature is easy. First go to your songs admin page located at http://www.indiebychoice.com/admin/songs. From here you will see an “Actions” button located to the right of each song. Hover over that button and select “Add Feature Artist” from the menu.

Start typing in the name of the artist you want to add and they should appear in the search results. Click on that artist and your done.

The artist will be notified that you added them as a featured artist. When they confirm your request your song will be placed on their profile page under an album called “Featured.”

Removing a Feature Artist
To remove a feature artist visit your “Features” admin page located at http://www.indiebychoice.com/admin/songs/features. To your right you will see the option to view “pending”, “confirmed” and “sent” feature request. Click on the “Sent” filter to view all the artist you have added as a feature. Select the artist you want to remove and click “unfeature.” Note that because you added the artist as a feature their is no approval process for removing them.

Responding to a Feature Request
You can view all of the songs you were added as a feature to at http://www.indiebychoice.com/admin/songs/features. You then can select which features you want to reply to from the list. After selecting the features click on the “confirm” or “decline” button located to the right.

The Real Open Mic Hosted by Skandizzle

Got a chance to attend The Real Open Mic hosted by Skandizzle Tuesday night at the Mad Frog. It was a pretty good turnout with some unique performances. There were a lot of female artist who came out and represented and even a group, Fly Guy Club, from Indiana. The night was organized professionally which included an artist development session, live performances, and a grand prize winner selected by Jeffrey Royce to participate in the Make My City Proud Talent Showcase.

A couple of artist from IndieByChoice that came out include Cargo #1 Dirtbagg, Flame, and Miss Gunz. We love to catch live performances, so if you have an event let us know. We will try to come out and support independent artist from all genres.

We have a great performance below from ~~Fly Guy Club~~ The Beige Team and Skandizzle for all of you who couldn't make it out. You can also catch the live performances yourself every Tuesday at the Mad Frog located 1 E McMillan St. in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Updated Photo Gallery

Got some photos to share? Check out the updated photo gallery admin page where you can add your photos to IndieByChoice and Facebook at the same time. Uploading your photos to your IndieByChoice and Facebook account is quick and easy. Just be sure to have your accounts synced and then check the "Share on My Facebook Account" box next to the upload button and your done (preview below).

Along with adding photos to your Facebook account from IndieByChoice you can also add galleries. It's the same process, just check the "Share on My Facebook Account" box when creating a new photo gallery.

We also updated the photo gallery viewer to be more user friendly with a better navigation. Be sure to check it out and your photos at www.indiebychoice.com.

Radio Play

Welcome Independent Record Labels

For independent record labels who want to promote and showcase multiple artist we have created a new account type called "Record Label". As fans and listeners interact with the artist under your label they will also be promoted on your network of sites (e.g. your Twitter and Facebook). As a label you will have access to all your artist songs on your profile.

To create your account as a record label go to www.indiebychoice.com/join.aspx. After you have created your account artist can then request to be on your label. You will have to accept this request in the same manner you accept friend request.

NOTE: Record labels can not upload songs. If you need to upload music to your account you will have to create an artist account.

New Music Page

We have revamped our music page at www.indiebychoice.com/indie-music. You can now filter your music from options like bit rate, plays, date added, and more. The new layout also offer artist a chance to become a feature artist which we will be rolling out across all our landing pages. Be sure to check it out and leave us some feedback on what you think.

New - Facebook Sync

In our effort to offer artist as much exposure as possible along with giving listeners the ability to share and take their playlist everywhere we have added Facebook connect so that members can now link their IndieByChoice and Facebook accounts. Just like the Twitter and Youtube syncing option you just click on the link "Sync Facebook", grant IndieByChoice the permission to connect to your account and you are done.

For artist this will allow us to notify your friends on Facebook whenever you add a new song or video and whenever a listener adds your music to their playlist.

For listeners this will allow for us to notify your friends when you add a song or video to your playlist and when you become fans of an artist.

The Facebook, along with Twitter and Youtube, sync can be disconnected (and re-connected) at any time. To get started just log into your admin page and click on "Sync Facebook".

New Social Board

New, your IndieByChoice profile is more interactive with an updated playlist player and a new Social Board. You can now listen to all your favorite songs while instant messaging your IndieByChoice friends/fans or tweeting with your Twitter followers. Just log into your account and go to your profile page to get started. Check it out.

Also, be on the lookout for the addition of Myspace and Facebook.

Freestyle Corner

IndieByChoice Freestyle Corner is now live... artist add your freestyle... listeners/fans go and vote @ www.indiebychoice.com/freestyle

Artist can submit a freestyle video by selecting one of your IndieByChoice videos or from your youtube account. Everyone may vote on each video one time per day.

Sync Your IndieByChoice and Youtube Profiles

Artist can now link their Youtube account with their IndieByChoice account. This will allow you to import all of your youtube videos with one click. To sync your profiles just select the "Sync Youtube Account" link located in your admin page like below:

You then can import all of your Youtube videos by clicking on "Videos" link located on the left hand side like so:

Then click on "Import All My Youtube Videos" like below:

This will add all your uploaded Youtube videos to your IndieByChoice account.

Updated Song Player

In our effort to spread independent music we have made our music player more social and user friendly. If you are an artist you can now post your songs onto your other social media profiles. For listeners you can post your favorite songs on your profile as well.

Other added features include the ability to scrub through a song, more volume control, add song to playlist, better sharing options, and more.

Artist Calendar

We are happy to announce our latest feature, the "Artist Calendar". Now each artist will be able to add up-coming shows to their calendar and it will be posted on their profile page and on eventful.com. Also, when an artist adds a new show a notice will be sent out via twitter (indiebychoices's twitter account along with the artists' twitter account if synced).

The calendar offers many features for listeners and fans to invite friends to the show along with the option for IndieByChoice to send you a text message reminder on the day of the event. View screen shot below:

To add a new show just log into your account and select the "Manage Shows" option located under the "Promote" header from the left side menu.

From here you will find that you can add a new show to an existing location in your state or if you can't find your venue just add a new one and we will save it for next time.

Sync Your IndieByChoice and Twitter Account

Link your IndieByChoice and Twitter accounts together and when you upload, rate, and add to your playlist a song or video we will notify your followers. This is a great way for artist to top the IndieByChoice charts and keep fans updated at no extra effort.

To link your account just click on the "Sync Twitter Account" link like below.

As an artist you can keep your Twitter followers up to date every time you upload a song or video, receive a rating of 4 stars or more, and when a listener adds your music to their playlist.

For listeners we notify your followers every time you add a song or video to your playlist and when you become a fan of an artist.

Keep Your Fans Updated

Got an upcoming show, new album, or going on tour? Let your fans know through our new Newsletter Subscription feature. Each artist can send up to 4 newsletters a month to a list of fans that joined your mailing list.

For fans, joining the mailing list is simple. Just visit the artist profile page, enter your email address and your done.

NOTE: To prevent spam, artist will not have access to fans email address.

You can now create your own profile theme to make your profile stand out. Customizing your profile is quick and easy, just login to your account and visit your profile page. There you will have the option to change the colors of everything on your profile and upload a background image. There is no HTML required. Check it out and let us know what you think.
